1979 Mustang Pace Car - at the Brickyard

This is one of the most popular early, third-generation Mustangs around. They made quite a few of them - but it's pretty rare to see one in clean condition these days.

In Ford reintroduced a new Mustang. Using the Fox platform, the third generation pony car would reinvent the modern muscle car. In 1979 the Mustang was also invited back to the Indianapolis 500 to pace the field. Three specially prepared cars took on the duties of Indy while 10,478 production cars took to the streets. The 1979 Mustang Pace Car came standard with many features that would be continued through 1982. The two-tone Pewter Polly and flat black beautifully compliment the blazing orange and red stripes.

The colors on these cars are beautiful. The Pewter body color is perfectly complemented by the flat black accents, and bright accent stripes. When you see them in person, the have a glow - and the soft metallic Pewter is really effected by surrounding light.

The final illustration is on 19"x13" trim cotton paper. We have a printer in the studio that produces museum archival prints. SOLD UN-MATTED - SHIPPED IN A TUBE.  Every print is registered, and there are 94 prints remaining as of 07/02/12.

  2. Still have prints #7-100 remaining. If you order - and use a mailing address that doesn't specify your name, please include it in the comment box. I'm keeping a registry of all the prints to prove exclusivity.
